Who Will Win the Super Bowl? Ravens or 49ers

super bowlThe Super Bowl is the annual championship game of the National Football League (NFL),

the highest level of professional American football in the United States, culminating a season that begins in the late summer of the previous calendar year. The Super Bowl uses Roman numerals to identify each game, rather than the year in which it is held. For example, Super Bowl I was played on January 15, 1967, following the 1966 regular season, while Super Bowl XLVII will be played on February 3, 2013, to determine the champion of the current 2012 season.

This year the Baltimore Ravens will take on the San Francisco 49ers. What is so special about this game? The coaches for the teams are brothers; taking sibling rivalry to the full extent! I can already see how our party will be set up, all of the wives will be in the kitchen chit-chatting about this and that, while the guys will be in the bonus room rooting on for their team, holding their breath while watching a critical play, then either yelling or cheering at the outcome.

The game was created as part of a merger agreement between the NFL and its then-rival league, the American Football League (AFL). It was agreed that the two leagues’ champion teams would play in an AFL–NFL World Championship Game until the merger was to officially begin in 1970. After the merger, each league was redesignated as a “conference”, and the game was then played between the conference champions. Currently, the National Football Conference (NFC) leads the series with 25 wins to 21 wins for the American Football Conference (AFC).

In 2007, CNNMoney.com ranked Apex as the 14th best place to live in the United States. History of Downtown Apex, NC

The town of Apex was incorporated in 1873, named for its location as the highest point on a portion of the Chatham Railroad which ultimately extends between Richmond, Virginia and Jacksonville, Florida. Apex grew slowly through the succeeding decades, despite several devastating fires, including a June 12, 1911 conflagration which destroyed most of the downtown business district. The town center was rebuilt and stands to this day, now one of the most intact railroad towns in the state. At the heart of town stands the Apex Union Depot, originally a passenger station for the Seaboard Air Line Railroad and later home to the locally-supported Apex Community Library. The depot now houses the Apex Chamber of Commerce.

Modern Decorating Ideas for Your Walls:  Frame Fabric

I know the name of this idea I a little funny sounding, who is really going to frame fabric. When it comes down to it, this can be a really neat way to just spice up a bare wall.

This is what you’ll need for this project.

1. A staple gun

2. Stretched Canvas (Sold at any craft store)

3. Fabric of your liking (Heavy linen or cotton preferred)

Alright, to construct your creation simply cut your fabric four to six inches longer and wider than the frame. Place the material design side down and center your canvas on top of the material. Start by placing one staple in the center of the left side of the frame. Pull the fabric tight and repeat for the right, top and bottom.  Create neat corners when you come to them.

Sounds pretty cool right?

Lowe’s and Home Depot Have Answered My Prayers!

We all know that small upkeep on our homes and making sure they are trending with the styles adds a lot of value, both monetarily and visually for the neighborhood and especially for when you are trying to buy/sell the property.

When the time arises I love doing projects around the house over the weekends, but I feel like I am always second guessing myself on what to buy, how much material I need, what should my budget look like, etc. I am only hoping that you are feeling my pain!

The DIY Gods must have seen us all scratching our heads and sent signals to Home Depot and Lowes to help out the little crafty people like ourselves.

Lowe’s Home Improvement started this movement with “$50 and Change”, which are weekend projects that are already put together for you; all you have to do is pick out what you want. Their first project was a Front Door Makeover. The supplies were easily located on an end cap in the store, in which you picked out a paint color, kick plate, welcome mat, and three solar light picks ALL FOR $50! The other projects that they have featured are a Back Yard Bird Feeder, Kitchen Communication Center, and a Mud Room Make-Over. Assuming that this was such a hit, Lowe’s went one step further and created a “Lowe’s Idea Exchange on Facebook.” Here is the link to check out what others are doing to get inspired, or maybe you are the one we all envy and want to post an idea. Either way, it is super fun to look at and you can also find all of the $50 and Change projects there as well. http://apps.facebook.com/lowesideaexchange/?cm_mmc=email_promo-_-20120909-_-lm_5829-_-lowesideaexchange_email

Home depot piggy backed on the idea and created “The Great American Fix Up Project”, which will feature a different project every month and will give you materials, videos, extra associated accessories, and to answer our “how much do I need?” a calculator that will help you figure all that out. This one website hosts many different ideas at many different difficulty levels and price points. They vary from painting your staircase, to installing a safe for your personal belongings, front yard-scapes, and many more projects that might strike your fancy. http://www6.homedepot.com/great-american-fix-up-event/?cm_sp=Homepage-_-9_6-_-Hero-_-Start_the_Great_American_Fix_Up

All I have to say is “This is Genius!” Now I know where my rainy day fund is going to! Have fun and I would love to hear and see some of our projects.
